About Work Time Tracker

Work Time Tracker is a simple daily calculator: enter when you started, when you plan to finish, and how long your breaks were. It shows you exactly how much work time is left and fills up a progress bar as the day goes on.

Why Track Your Work Hours?

Most people wildly overestimate how many hours they work and underestimate how many hours they spend distracted. Having a live number in front of you changes your relationship with time — suddenly you can see how much is left, not just feel it slipping away.

  • Awareness: See exactly how much net work time you have left today.
  • Honest numbers: Breaks are subtracted so you see real work time, not clock time.
  • Streaks: Log days consistently and build a streak that's painful to break.
  • Achievements: Milestones give you something to work toward beyond just the clock.

How the Calculation Works

Gross time is the total span from start to end. Net work time subtracts your breaks. The progress bar and remaining time are based on net work — so a 9-hour day with 1 hour of breaks shows 8 hours of real work.

The estimated finish time updates live based on how much net work time is still ahead of you — so if you're behind, it adjusts.

Your Data Stays Private

All data is stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is ever sent to a server. Clearing your browser data will erase your history.

Tips

  • Set your times at the start of the day, not at the end — it's a plan, not a log.
  • Enter total break time, not individual breaks. Just add them up.
  • Hit "Log Today's Work" at the end of the day to save it to your history and earn achievements.
  • A streak only counts if you log the day — so make it a habit.
